Shadowed Persistence. The Revenant can sense the presence of the creature responsible for its death within 1 mile and knows its general direction. If that creature is on a different plane, the revenant is aware and compelled to find ways to reach it.

Multiattack. The Shadowbound Revenant makes two claw attacks.
- Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d10 + 4) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Grasp of the Grave. The Revenant extends its shadowy arms, grasping at life energy. All creatures within 10 feet of the revenant must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 14 (4d6) necrotic damage and have their movement reduced by half until the start of the revenant’s next turn.
Ethereal Howl (Recharge 5-6). The revenant emits an otherworldly howl, instilling terror. All creatures within 30 feet that can hear it must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the save at the end of each of its turns.
Description:
Once a soul bound by intense emotion or betrayal, the Shadowbound Revenant seeks revenge in death, even if its reasons are muddled by time. Each revenant is cursed to wander in search of its betrayer or fulfill a dark purpose linked to its former life. These monsters are encountered in places of tragedy or deep shadows, embodying lingering pain and fury. Shadowbound Revenants are formidable foes for adventurers, especially in dark, confined spaces, where they can use their Shadowstep to move unpredictably, keeping players on edge.
