Weapon (longsword), rare (requires attunement by a creature of good alignment)
Description:
Forged in the heart of a long-forgotten desert civilization, the Sunblade of the Nomad is a longsword that glows with the radiant energy of the sun. Its blade is crafted from a rare, sun-infused metal, giving it a warm golden hue that shimmers like a mirage. The hilt is wrapped in fine, sand-colored leather, providing a firm grip even in the harshest conditions.
Properties:
- Radiant Blade: This weapon deals an additional 1d6 radiant damage on a hit. When you hit an undead creature with it, that target takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage.
- Luminous Strike: As a bonus action, you can command the Sunblade of the Nomad to shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. You can extinguish the light as a bonus action.
- Sun’s Blessing: While attuned to this weapon, you have resistance to fire damage.
- Desert Nomad’s Grace: While holding the Sunblade of the Nomad, you gain advantage on saving throws against effects that would blind you or impose exhaustion due to extreme heat.
- Call of the Desert: Once per day, you can use an action to cast the spell Create Food and Water with the blade. The created food and water are of good quality and have a slight, comforting warmth to them.
Attunement:
To attune to the Sunblade of the Nomad, the wielder must spend a short rest in direct sunlight, reflecting on the virtues of perseverance and courage. The sword rejects any creature that is not of good alignment.
Lore:
The Sunblade of the Nomad was created by a tribe of desert warriors who revered the sun as a divine guardian. They believed the sword held a fragment of the sun’s power, granting its bearer the ability to survive and thrive in the harsh desert. Legends say that the blade guided its wielders to hidden oases and protected them from the monstrous creatures of the sands. Now, this powerful relic waits for a new hero to wield its radiant light against the forces of darkness.
